This could turn out to be a good year for fans of prime 90s hip hop. With the 20th anniversary of Arrested Development’s debut 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days In The Life Of … as well as a new album by these hip hop legends, there are two events down in the calendar already. And now two thirds of De La Soul are teasing us with a little skit for their new project First Serve. If the upcoming album, which will hit planet earth on April 2nd, of Plug 1 and Plug 2 (Kelvin Mercer and Dave Jolicoeur) is half as crazy-ass creative and funky-funny as this clip, we’re in for a treat.
Sure, still a little while until April, but while you’re waiting you might as well check out this nifty mixtape by First Serve – it combines sources from Notorious BIG to The Beatles, Cee-Lo Green to Grand Master Flash, Aloe Blacc to Ini Kamoze, Run DMC, KRS-One Jay-Z, some De Le Soul of course, and more.
